Year 11 Students, The Swanage School, Celebrate GCSE Exam Success!

The Swanage School Year 11 Make 2018 Another Great Year for Exam Success!

May and June of 2018 saw The Swanage School’s Year 11 students take their GCSEs.

Highlights include an 86% grade 4 and above in English, with 30% of the students achieving a grade 7 and over. Significantly students achieved over a grade and a half more in several subjects, than was predicted by the students’ Key Stage 2 scores at age 11; our students made a lot of progress!

Impressively, almost 20% of our students achieved a 7 or over in all their GCSEs and close to 80% of our Double Scientists achieved 4 and above, with 20% at 7 and above.

The Swanage School’s Progress 8 was +0.55 placing us at the top of the league table, second only to The Thomas Hardye School, and in the top 10% of schools nationally. We are immensely proud of our results and the commitment of our staff to success, but most of all we congratulate our Year 11 students for doing so well; they worked hard and absolutely deserve to celebrate!

Students leave The Swanage School after Year 11.  This group are moving on to a range of further education opportunities including A Level studies, apprenticeships and vocational courses across Dorset and Hampshire.
