Dear parents/carers,
Firstly I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a happy new year. Let’s hope that this year lives up to expectations.
Again lots of information to share after Wednesday’s government announcements, please take the time to read through, I have tried to keep it to the point. I will be emailing out again early next week, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. I will be communicating more often than usual over the next 3 weeks.

Virtual School
We will be sending out reminder information soon on how to access Microsoft Teams, but the students are very familiar with how it all works now. There are also explanation videos on our website. If you need access to IT then please let us know if we have not contacted you by Monday.
What does the testing entail?
Currently, my understanding is that staff will be supervising and not administering the swabs. We will know more after we have undertaken the training and testing ourselves on Monday, I will then update you.
If you and your child consent to taking the lateral flow tests prior to returning to school then you must complete the consent form. The form can be found by following the link in the copy of this letter emailed home on Friday 1st January 2021.
Keeping the virus at bay
As you have no doubt been following on the news there is a more contagious strain of the virus in full circulation. Over the holiday period we had members of staff who tested positive for Covid-19. Although this did not impact on the students we are now requesting that all students and staff wear masks in lessons as well as around the school. I will be sending out all key information including our revised detailed mitigation strategy for the return to face to face learning before the 18th Jan.
Keep yourselves safe
Kind regards
Jenny Maraspin
