GCSE Results 2016

The Swanage School is celebrating its first set of GCSE results. Our amazing year 11 students worked incredibly hard and we are very proud of the impressive results they have achieved.

  • 85 per cent achieved A*- C in English [26 per cent achieved A or A*]
  • 65 per cent achieved A*- C in Maths
  • 62 per cent achieved A* - C in both Maths and English

The new benchmark for progress is Progress 8, and our score was a hugely impressive 0.44, which put us in the top 6% of schools across the country and well above any other school in Dorset LA.

This means that our students achieved a whole grade higher than expected in half of their GCSEs, and one third of our students got at least a whole grade better than expected in EVERY subject (eg 10 A’s instead of 10 B’s).

These superb results clearly demonstrate the knowledge and skills our students have gained during their time at The Swanage School and they can go on to their chosen sixth forms and colleges with pride and confidence. We will miss our wonderful Year 11 students and wish them all the best in the future.
