Performing Arts at The Swanage School

Our annual show at the Mowlem Theatre has become legendary - the talk of the town! A huge number of students are involved each year in this major undertaking, rehearsing hard, gaining new skills, working as a team and seeing their confidence soar as they step on stage to sing, dance and act their way to a standing ovation or work behind the scenes to ensure everything goes according to plan. Throughout the year, other shows are produced too, including an annual Year 9 pantomime which brings the house down every time!

Our involvement in the National Connections programme, run by the National Theatre, saw a group of our most talented drama students star in a moving production of Dungeness by Chris Thompson at the Mowlem Theatre. Sadly the remainder of the competition, which would have seen our students perform at the Southampton Mayflower Theatre and the possibility of making it through to the finals at the National Theatre in London, had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. But the pandemic hasn't stopped casting for our 2021 annual production and...

The Swanage School Presents...THE WIZARD OF OZ!

The Swanage School are "off to see the Wizard" and we invite our students to join us on our magical journey!
